I was trying to come up with a “coming in” activity for our Birthday Party for Jesus at my church. I was brainstorming some ideas with my #KidMin pal Genna Champion, and the idea of Christmas Bingo came up.
I thought I’d post it here in case anyone else was looking for an idea. Here’s where I landed.
Prep:
– Print one copy of the Christmas Bingo card for each child. I printed 2 per sheet so they came out to be roughly 5.5″x8.5″.
– Print icons or words on a sheet of address labels. Each word needs to correspond with an ornament on your tree (see below). Here’s a sample of the ones I made. I printed 2 words on each label then cut them in half. There are 24 empty squares on each Christmas Bingo card so my goal was to have 35-40 ornaments, some represented by stickers and some not, and have at least 30 different words on stickers to add variety.
– Decorate a Christmas tree with a variety of ornaments that correspond to the stickers you print. (In our context, I set our tree in a place that the children cannot touch it as that is part of my instructions. They have to find the items from a short distance away without touching the tree.)
Instructions:
– Kids select one blank Christmas Bingo card as they come in.
– Kids select a different sticker for each square and place it on his/her Christmas Bingo card. This allows each card to be different, customized for each child.
– After each square has a sticker, kids will go to the Christmas tree and look for each item on their Christmas Bingo card. When an item is found, kids should mark that item off on their card.
– – There are 2 ways to go about getting a “bingo.” We will have younger kids play traditional Bingo by getting 5 in a row. Older kids will completely fill their card by finding all items to get Bingo
It’s Christmas time and here in Florida it can be kind of hard to get into the Christmas spirit because it’s warm and we don’t have snow. So our favorite tradition is to drive around and look at Christmas lights! We put hot chocolate in thermoses and bring blankets and drive around “oohing and ahhhing.”

We drive (and walk) around our neighborhood looking for lights a lot during the Christmas season. So I thought I would make a game for one or two of the many times we go.
